Correcting Credit Report Errors for Weatherford Clients

DO YOU CHECK YOUR CREDIT SCORE?

Of course you do!

DO YOU CHECK YOUR CREDIT REPORT?

You might not have realized these are two different things.

Considering how much time we spend checking our credit score, you’d think it was the more important factor. It’s not!

Don’t fool yourself, Weatherford. When it comes to accurate credit reporting, your future is in your hands.

HOW TO CHECK YOUR REPORT

Go to www.annualcreditreport.com and enter a few pieces of personal info.

You can do this once a year for free, or three times a year if you space out each credit agency that offers your report. You should check all three in a given year, so definitely do one or the other.

HOW DOES IT LOOK?

If you see something that doesn’t belong, you may have struck gold, friend.

Fixing erroneous, and potentially fraudulent, reports in your credit can not only improve your credit score, but also earn you damages from the responsible institution. That’s right, you could be due hundreds of dollars in penalties, in addition to a better credit score.

Who wouldn’t be interested in that?

There are many possible reasons to lose points on your credit score, but if for some reason you’ve maintained a consistent series of accounts, this shouldn’t happen. My name is James Foley PLLC, and I’m here to protect you from fraud and illegal activity by companies who try to steal from you.

What kinds of things am I talking about?

The kinds of inaccuracies that I work on and often litigate include inaccuarate or often outdated public records (like judgments); credit reports showing inaccurate information after litigation, such as a take nothing judgment for the debtor on a collection suit, stale, outdated, or reaged debt.  The statute of limitations is 7 ½ years from the date of first delinquency. Things like small payments or the debt being sold from one creditor to another

One month can make a major difference in your credit score, not to mention a year or longer. Why let a bad actor get in the way of owning a home, buying a car, or receiving a loan?

WHEN YOU’RE READY TO LOWER THE HAMMER

I’m an experienced attorney, and the kind of partner who can make your case heard with credit agencies. I’ve won Weatherford and Decatur clients thousands only in the beginning of this work, and I know more in the county stand to profit. The same is true for Aledo, Mineral Wells, Parker County, and the entire DFW metroplex.

For just the price of certified mail, I’ll begin the dispute process in your name, and we’ll take on the credit reporting agency, whether that’s Equifax, TransUnion, or Experian.

If these agencies choose to ignore you in order to wind down the clock, that’s additionally illegal, and where you’ll likely need an added piece of legal help. Call me.
